Jueteng. The unofficial national pastime. The favorite of lolo, manong, kapitbahay, and probably your barangay tanod. But what if we told you... there’s math behind it?
Classic jueteng usually asks you to pick two numbers between 1 and 37. The winning combination is two numbers drawn — usually in order — from that same 1–37 range.
You’re picking 2 numbers, and they must match the drawn pair in exact order. That means the number of possible ordered combinations is:
Why 36 after 37? Because jueteng draws two different numbers, so the second number must be different from the first.
– witness
So if there are 1,332 possible combinations and you bet on one combo:
Jueteng isn’t really about winning. It’s about hope, and that sweet moment when the kubrador tells you: “Pasok 'yan sa 18!”
🤷 Play for fun. Believe in numbers. Or in dreams. Just don’t quit your job.
